The Windows 10 Creators Update brought some changes to the Photos app, namely the ability to draw on your photos with Windows Ink to create living images. Whether you're showing off your vacation photos with clever captions or preparing for a presentation with careful notes, here's how to create a living image, how to save snapshots from a living image, and how to convert a living image into an animated GIF.
Before anything else, we need to create a living image using Windows Ink. You don't necessarily need a compatible pen for this; your mouse will work just fine.
Launch the Photos app from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
Click an image to open.
Click Draw.
Click a drawing tool.
Create a drawing on the photo.
Click Save a copy. Don't worry, the original photo will remain untouched.
Click the Play button to see your living image in action.
All living images you create are saved by default in the Pictures folder on your PC and filenames are appended by LI. These living images can be opened and played in the Photos app.
How to save stills from a living image
The Photos app lets you capture still images from a living image you've already created. Here's how to do it.
Launch the Photos app from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
Click a living image to open.
Click the See more button. It looks like three dots.
Click and drag the slider to manually move the frames.
Click Save a photo on the specific frame you want to save.
Any still you capture from a living image will be saved by default in your Pictures folder and will have a filename appended with LI_Moment.
How to export living images as videos
If you'd like to create a GIF of your living image so that it can be played outside the Photos app, you have to first export it as a video, then convert it. In this example, we share the living image as a video with Dropbox, then download the MP4 from Dropbox to be converted into a GIF.
Launch the Photos app from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
Click a living image to open.
Click Share.
Click Share as video.
Click Dropbox. Note that you must already have the Dropbox app installed on your PC.
Click Save. Your file will now be uploaded to Dropbox.
You now have to access Dropbox and download the MP4 file to your PC.
Launch Dropbox from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
Click the Recents button near the top-left corner of the window.
Click your file.
Click the See more button. It looks like three dots.
Click save to device.
Click Save.

The Paint application included with Windows 8 can not only edit images but convert them from one file format to another. For example, if you need to create a GIF animation for your company's website, Paint's 'Save As' function can transform your JPG photos, charts and illustrations into standard GIF files with just a few taps or mouse clicks.
Windows Paint
You can save the images you open or edit with Windows Paint as JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF or PNG image files. To see your options, click the “File” tab and then hold your pointer over the 'Save As' button. To convert your JPG into a GIF file, select the 'GIF Picture' button.
GIF Image Degradation
Before Paint finishes the conversion process, however, it warns you that your image's quality may suffer if you proceed. JPG images may contain millions of colors, but GIFS are limited to a palette of only 256 simultaneous colors. When you convert a colorful JPG image to a GIF, you may lose enough color information to degrade its appearance. Images may look pixelated or have horizontal bands running through them.

Hey everyone! As part of our ongoing series on Windows 10 hacks, today we are going to show how to get rid of your typical static wallpapers. From now on, you will be able to have animated GIFs as your wallpapers.
If you’re here, you may have already realized that Windows 10 itself doesn’t support GIFs as desktop wallpapers. Therefore, we will download a third party program to do this for us. We will be introducing two different programs: BioniX and Plastuer. They do almost the same thing but BioniX is free while Plastuer costs a small amount of money. (you pay any amount you want with minimum 2 USD). If you pay that sum you get a friendlier interface and software that’s a little easier to use. Let’s start with our Free choice, Bionix.
What is BioniX?
BioniX is a pretty cool free program which manages your wallpapers. In it you can:
Create a playlist of wallpapers (which can include GIFs) to change between.
Decide how often the change will be made.
Decide whether the order of wallpapers will be decided randomly or whether they switched according to the order you decided.
Plus many other features, but we’ll focus on the features above for this article. We encourage you to play with the program, it’s fun and pretty easy to use.
How to download BioniX?
Go to http://www.bionixwallpaper.com/downloads/Animated_GIF_Wallpaper/gif_wallpaper.html and click on Download it now.
How to install and use BioniX?
When you finish downloading the program, double-click on the setup file to start installing it.
Set your installation directory from Browse (The default location is C:BioniX Wallpaper), you can leave the default if you’re not sure what to do here and then click Install.
After the installation is done, click Ok to accept the License Agreement.
Choose the Full user interface and then click Close (You will be able to change that later so no worries).
Click Ok.
Now to focus on adjusting your settings, you should click the Stop button to stop any automatic wallpaper changes for the moment.
In the Playlist tab, click the Clear playlist button in order to remove all the imported media files from you computer.
Now you have a clean playlist, drag and drop the GIF wallpaper into the blank playlist (you can actually add more than one and the program will switch between them automatically – see next step).
Adjust the timing in case you have more than one wallpaper in your playlist and then click on the Play button to start the wallpaper timer. If you don’t press the play button then it won’t automatically change the backgrounds. Click on the ‘Shuffle mode‘ checkbox if you want to be surprised by the order of the background changes.
Also let’s adjust the wallpaper size from its tab. Many choices are available there: you can use the original size of the wallpaper, you can also choose to fit and fill it. If you plan to use the fill option then you can adjust the maximum enlargement you want. Beware that small GIFs can get pixelated when enlarged.
If you would like to add some online wallpaper/s from a specific website, there’s a way to do so. Also there is a special tool to get wallpapers from Flickr. You can do both of these things from the Tools menu as shown below.
Also if you want to control which monitor(s) you want to manage using the program, open the Monitor tab, set each monitor by number and then click Apply.
Click on the Start button to start the whole thing.
Here you are. Your GIF wallpapers will now work perfectly as long as the application is running. Note that minimizing the application will not exit it while Close will.
If you want to stop your GIF wallpaper’s animation or maybe return control of the wallpapers to Windows, right-click on the BioniX icon and choose Close BioniX.
What’s Plastuer?
Plastuer is another solution to make your GIF wallpaper work, it’s available as PWYW (Pay What You Want) with a minimum of 2 USD. We have tried it ourselves and it’s almost the same as BioniX but we found its interface more friendly and elegant.
How to download Plastuer?
Go to http://plastuer.com/ and scroll down until you reach the bottom of the webpage and input the amount of money you would like to pay with a minimum of 2 USD and then click on the Buy now button.
Now enter your personal email because after you finish the PayPal transaction, they will send you the download link. Click Confirm.
How to run and use Plastuer?
If you noticed, we said “run and use” without mentioning installing, and that’s because Plastuer doesn’t need any installation, it’s a portable program which requires no installations to work.
In general, the user interface is pretty easy and it takes you step-by-step. We really liked how smoothly it went. Let’s take a look:
Right-click on the downloaded zip file and choose Extract all.
Choose the location where you want to extract this file and then click Extract.
In the extracted folder, double-click on Plastuer.exe to launch the program.
We will begin by selecting the monitors we would like to control via Plastuer.
Click Select File to choose the GIF you want to set as your desktop wallpaper. If you want to add the GIF URL directly because you don’t have it on your local computer, just paste it in the top bar and go so step 7.
Browse to the GIF’s location, select the wanted GIF and then click Open.
Now, click Save.
Choose the wallpaper layout and the background color that might appear behind the GIF.
Now you have set your wallpaper, but back to step 5 and let’s Create a Playlist.
You can now browse and select the wallpapers you want to add to your playlist and you can past a URL and the program will add the online wallpaper to the playlist immediately.
Don’t forget that you will have to choose the layout and the background color for every wallpaper you add.
After your playlist is ready, click Save.
Choose the location where the playlist will be saved, give it a name and then click Save.
Click Save to start working using your playlist.
Determine the duration of each wallpaper in the playlist and whether to shuffle or to stick to the order. This can be done through the checkbox. Now click Save.
Finally the program offers some free wallpapers in its gallery, if you want to choose among them, go to the main menu and click Browse Gallery.
You can now choose from a variety of wallpapers.
That’s it. Your GIF wallpapers will now work perfectly as long as the application is running. You can make sure it’s running in the bottom-right corner of your screen. You can also skip the current wallpaper to the following one by right-clicking on the icon and choosing Change wallpaper.
GIFs are amazing graphical animations. They make use of multiple images to combine to form a video-like representation. If you’re a fan of GIFs, consider learning how you can record your screen and make a looping GIF in Windows 10.
A little something about the GIF
GIF or Graphical Interchange Format is an intuitive way to form small sized animations that are nearly identical to the way you record videos (at least for smaller lengths). The format has proved to be extremely popular on the Internet because of how information rich GIFs can be.
Screen to GIF App Converts Screen Recordings Into Animated GIFs
Screen to GIF is an amazingly intuitive app that does extremely well when it comes to handling GIFs and creating them from screencasts. It is designed specifically for users who record their screen regularly – whether for tutorials, showcasing designs, etc. – and want to share a GIF instead of a video.
Screen to GIF is nothing less than a Pandora box of screen recording to GIF editing features. It comes in one of the most smallest file sizes possible and it is quite astounding to see what it offers in such small amount of space.
Assessing its user interface: Screen to GIF is extremely simple and intuitive to use. When I first downloaded the app, I was of the view that it might be very complicated to use like most other editors but much to my amazement, Screen to GIF was extremely easy to use.
The most part of the interface features a mirroring window. Wherever you drag the program, the window shows whatever is underneath on your screen. This makes it extremely easy to record a specific part of the screen which you wish to be turned into a GIF. Furthermore, you can include multiple parts of the screen as part of the GIF by dragging Screen to GIF around.
Apart from the transparent window, the interface features a toolbar just underneath that window. The toolbar consists of some basic alterations which you can make before you move on to record your GIF. The buttons include the GIF and app settings buttons, frames/second captured button, resolution counter, Record button and the Stop button. These extremely basic and nifty controls give you all the power you need to make the perfect GIF from your screen. Simply position the program over the screen, click on the Record button and then when you’re done, click on Stop.
After you’ve clicked on Stop, a completely new interface holding your captured GIF appears. You’ve now moved into the Editor portion of the program. The Editor is as good as you’d want it to be. Like the primary interface of Screen to GIF, the editor’s interface is also extremely easy to operate as whatever you want is simply there in front of you as shown in the image below.
The editor contains all the basic tools you’ll need to customize your GIF. Its features include:
Filters: Filters are one of the darlings of editing crazy people. You can simply select a filter from the Filters button and apply it to your GIF.
Frame by Frame editing: The scroll bar below the transparent window allows you to jump to a specific frame of your choice and apply editing to it.
Adding text and other annotations: The Add Text button allows you to add small messages or descriptions to your GIF. If that doesn’t seem of interest to you, you can annotate your GIFs by clicking on the Free Drawing button. It opens up another photo editor like Microsoft Paint in which you can safely customize your GIF according to your interest.
Deleting frames: A subset of frame by frame editing, you can delete those frames which you think shouldn’t be in the GIF by simply scrolling over to that frame and then clicking on the Delete button.
Altering frames per second: After you’re done recording a GIF, you can still change its frames per second value. Simply right-click on the 66ms button to set the value that matches your tone.
Screen to GIF is a well-crafted package of features that has everything to get your love going for GIFs. La hija del mariachi descargar novela completa. Easy to use, just a tiny bit of hard-disk space and a whole lot of customization features are what makes this app truly remarkable. If you liked what you read, be sure to try Screen to GIF from the download link below.

How are photos stored?
JPEG, GIF, PNG – these are all files that hold pictures through many units called pixels. A pixel is a very small square of a single color (you can always see them if you zoom in very close on a picture). When a large number of these pixels are arranged next to each other, a picture is formed. The more pixels you have in a given area, the clearer your photo is. That is what we call high resolution. Higher resolution means more pixels means clearer photo. There is a trade-off, however: high resolution photos take up a lot more space on your disk.
Why would you need to resize your photos?
There are many possible reasons for this:
You a have a lot of photos and you’re trying to save room on your computer’s hard drive.
You’re trying to upload an image to a website but it has a limit on photo size.
You’re sending a photo or photos to someone and it’s taking too long.
You want to send photos in Gmail but they go over the 25MB attachment limit.
You’re trying to fit photos into an SSD or USB stick.
And more…
How to do it
We will be explaining some methods, the first one uses Paint – which is available in Windows 10, and the second one uses a nifty online tool.
Method I: Using Microsoft Paint
Microsoft Paint has been a main Microsoft Windows component since the very beginning. Fortunately, it’s still available in Windows 10. Despite its simplicity and lack of features, Paint has a very efficient resizing tool. Here’s how to use it:
Right-click on the photo you want to resize and select Open with > Paint.
Click on the Resize button in the Home tab.
In the dialog box, choose the settings that suit you, let’s begin with
Percentage will let you resize your image in a proportional way. We don’t recommend to resize your image below 50% for both Horizontal and vertical.
Pixels will let you decide the exact number of pixels you want horizontally and vertically. It’s pretty useful if you want to adjust the photo to an exact resolution.
In both methods, Skew makes you able to control a diagonal stretching/shrinking.
Make sure you check the Maintain aspect ratio if you want to keep the same ration length x width.
Finally click Ok and you will be able to see the final output right away.
Remember to use the Undo hotkey in case you didn’t like the changes you made: Ctrl + Z.
If you want to replace the original photo with the one you modified, select Save from the File menu.
If you want to save a modified copy while keeping the original one, select Save as from the File menu.
Choose the location you want to save the new photo, rename the file, choose the type of the output photo and finally click Save.
Method II: Using the resizeimage website
Resizeimage is one of the easiest online tools for resizing photos.
Open your browser and go to www.resizeimage.net.
Click on Upload an image.
Browse to the image you want to resize and then click Open.
Scroll down a little bit till you see the Resize your image section. You will find two options here: Percentage and Pixels. Percentage will let you resize your image in a proportional way. Pixels will let you decide the exact number of pixels you want horizontally and vertically. It’s pretty useful if you want to adjust the photo to an exact resolution.
Usually you will want to option to keep aspect ratio. So that your photo doesn’t become distorted.
Choose your background style (if you didn’t keep the aspect ratio):
Auto mode will automatically one of the following methods depending on your image type.
No fill will not add any background to the photo
White and black options will give a solid colored background to fill the remaining area around your photo.
The transparent background will be useful if your image is PNG or GIF so that no background can be detected around the item in the photo.
And finally if you don’t want the White/Black limited options, you can choose your custom background color.
Select the output format you want (JPG/PNG/GIF/BMP).
In the Optimize your image section, you can choose any kind of compression for your image, this will affect the quality so if needed, we do recommend the Normal Compression. You can also control the quality using the slider or the percentage box.
Once finished, click on Resize image to start applying the modifications you set.
Check the difference between the two version and then click Download image once done to save the output file to your local computer.
